Like vs. As if

08 Jan Like vs. As if

I recently read an article by Ron Howard #Opie and #RichieCunningham and he said “One day on the set, just after I’d turned 7, we were rehearsing a line, I don’t remember what it was, but I told the director, ‘I don’t think a kid would say it that way.’ And he said ‘Show me how you’d do it.'” #MensHealth

There is my argument between using like vs. as if. In my book #BoyInABand @Amazon a teenage girl would not say “as if”, she would say “like”. So although grammar is important, it is also important to portray the correct age of characters. “Like she knew it all along.”
